POLAND IN A NUTSHELL

Poland's total area is 312,679 km2 (69th largest country of the world and the ninth largest in Europe).

BORDERS
Poland lies in the heart of Europe and shares its borders with seven countries, including: Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus and Russia (Kaliningrad Oblast). Its longest border Poland shares with Czech Republic and the shortest with Lithuania.

BAŁTYK (The Baltic Sea)
Poland has a wide access to the Baltic Sea (approx.  528 km). The Polish 'stake' of the Baltic Sea streaches from the Wolin Island (part Polish and  part German) through Szczecin, Kołobrzeg, Hel and Gdańsk to Nowa Karczma and provides many seaside towns with tourist attractions and unpolluted clear water. The number of tourists visiting the Baltic Sea in Poland reaches 5,5 million (GP24).
One of the major attraction is the Banan ride. People sit on a banana shape pontoon and are being dragged by the boat on a specified route on the Baltic Sea. This ride lasts approximately 30 minutes and costs £4). Below is the image taken during the Banan ride.

Słowiński National Park located on the northern Poland covers a large area of the Baltic Sea cost. The great dunes are the pride os the park with many local and foreign tourists visiting the park. The Łebsko Lake takes up a large part of the National Park with many B&B hotels and exciting tourists attractions including kayaking, windsurfing, sailing and fishing.

MAZURY (Masuria)
North-eastern Poland, commonly known as Mazury, is dominated by 2700 lakes, rivers and canals which are being used by the canoeists. Hańcza Lake, the deepest lake in Poland is located in the Mazury district and has 108,5 meters of depth. There are 23 National Parks in Poland (the full list and detailed information of the parks can be found at http://www.poland.travel/en/national-parks/).

This video shows the Polish geography, nature, major cities as well as the Polish National Parks.

The oldest Polish National Park is called the Białowieża National Park, and is located near Warszawa, right on the border with Belarus. This park contains some oaks dating back half a millennium.
The other famous National Park, Bieszczady National Park is the third largest Park in Poland. The park is located in the Carpathian mountain range near Slovakia and Ukraine.
The reason why only these two parks are given special attention are the presence of the European bisons. These two parks are homes to these wild animals as well as brown bears, lynx, wolves and even some wild horses.
