Short history of Poland.

The history of Poland is very interesting and includes: the formation of Poland by Slavs, the Christianisation of Poland by Mieszko I, The battle of Grunwald led by Władysław II Jagiełło, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, The battle of Vienna led by Jan III Sobieski, three  partitions of Poland by Prussia, Russia and Austria (Poland lost its independence and disappears from the map of Europe for 123 years), 3 May Constitution (first in Europe and second in the World after the USA), First World War and Polish Independence, The battle of Warsaw led by Józef Piłsudski, Second World War, Creation of the People's Republic of Poland by Soviets, Pope John Paul II, The rise of Solidarity Movement led by Lech Wałęsa, imposition of the martial law by General Wojciech Jaruzelski, The round table talks (which the Communist Government held with the Solidarity movement and the Roman Catholic Church to calm the strikes and form an agreement), The first free elections after the Soviet era, Poland joining NATO and the EU, Smolensk air crash (in which 96 Polish delegates died, including the President, his wife, MP's, army officers and the clergy).

(I think I've listed all the main events, if there are other ones you would like to add please feel free to do so)

There are many words that can be used to explain the history of Poland, however only three can do this with dignity, pride and respect that every Pole should have towards their country. These are: Bóg, Honor, Ojczyzna. (God, Honour, Fatherland)
The following Youtube video is the best example of the animated history of Poland that I could find on the Internet.
After watching this video you should have an idea why Poles are so 'attached' to their country and would do absolutely everything to protect their fatherland.
